JOB TITLE: P r o j e c t E n g i n e e r (Would suit a recent Graduate)

LOCATION: Sunderland

REPORTING TO: Engineering Manager

Salary: CIRCA - £25,000


My client is a major supplier to the automotive industry, with a variety of clients. The group has a £300m T/O and is looking to expand its Sunderland engineering function as demand rockets for their products. They seek a Graduate level engineer to learn, develop and progress into a fully competent engineer in the projects. You can be either Mechanical or electrical/electronics discipline, with the desire to learn, a strong work ethic and tenacious attitude to problem solving.

MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To support project engineering activities within the team in delivering projects to our automotive customers, supporting the Engineering Manager and where directed, Project Managers; in all aspects of customer project engineering activities.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

* To support the resolution of technical, quality and project issues through technical involvement within company project teams and customers as required.
* To aid in the efficient preparation of engineering studies and VA/VE implementation for submission to customers.
* Support lean activity within your project activity - support and identify opportunities for cost reduction on both products and processes.
* Act as a communication link between company teams involved in engineering and development as well as engineering teams for future projects.
Support visits to company sites, either locally or overseas.

ANY SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

* Flexibility in terms of working hours and location, possibility of working outside of normal working hours.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* Qualifications:
HND / degree level in an Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical Engineering and have knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and circuits.
* Understanding of customer drawings is also desirable.
* Experience of harness build and manufacturing processes is also desirable.
