Are you an experienced Assessment Manager with experience of working within Education and Training? Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge?

Baltic Recruitment Education & Training Team are currently recruiting for a Permanent Assessment Manager working for a Tech Focused Training Provider. The main purpose of the role is to manage the assessment team ensuring all learners are progressed to achievement in a timely manner and pastoral care of learners is fulfilled. Identifying and resolving issues effecting progress and working with Operations Manager and Head of Training & Assessment in resolving learner progress issues. Work with your team to ensure EPA achievement and maximum results for learners. Work with the team on existing and new standards and identify support and training to maximise skill set of the team.

Assessment Manager Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor starts and assign assessor to each new start
  • Ensure new starts are recorded on relevant data management and assessor has responsibility of progress data
  • Weekly review of starts, progress with assessors
  • Monitor assessor data management and progress. Manage assessor caseloads, workloads and productivity
  • Identify any learners not progressing and implement resolutions to fix this
  • Overall responsibility for the reporting of reviews, progress, caseload and achievements
  • Day to day management of assessor team
  • Check quality of reviews and progress, provide feedback to improve quality of reviews
  • Ensure quality of reviews are compliant with funding guidance
  • Monthly assessor standardization meetings
  • Work with Head of Training & Assessment in improving processes, practices and sharing knowledge to improve the assessment team
  • Liaise with Head of Training & Assessment and other managers to identify and escalate barriers preventing progression – linked to LAR or leavers
  • Oversee sufficient planning to ensure all learners receive correct timely reviews and work set for progression and achievement
  • Check quality of submission of achievement paperwork
  • Ensure assessment staff are actively identifying learners at risk and escalating accordingly to the Customer Relations Team
  • Ensure assessment staff are working effectively to prevent leavers from programme by offering maximum support and pastoral care and if necessary referring such leavers to the Customer Relations team
  • Participate in new assessment plans for new standards ensuring new information is documented and shared within the team
  • Manage data management systems to ensure accurate, up to date information is being collated
  • Manage E Portfolio use and information in line with standard process to learners on a standard using the E portfolio
  • Work with IQA in the implementation and continuous improvement of our E portfolio use as we progress into more new standards

Assessment Manager Applicants:

  • Minimum of 12 months experience in the education/apprenticeship sector
  • Minimum of 12 months experience in a management role
  • A good understanding of IT Apprenticeships (preferred)
  • Teaching or assessment qualifications (preferred)
  • Experience of managing a funded training provision
  • Knowledge/experience of ESFA documentation/compliance in line with frameworks and standards
  • A methodical approach to work, attention to detail and highly organised
  • Passion for new ideas and innovative approach

Primarily working from Head Office in Newton Aycliffe, however some travel maybe involved in the role.
