Are you an experienced Media Developer, with experience of developing online learning content?

Baltic Recruitment are currently recruiting for Media Developers, working for a highly reputable Education Provider in South Shields. This is a fixed term contract for 6 months. Responsible for supporting teaching staff in achieving the objectives of the Digital Strategy through the development of online learning content.

Media Developer Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with subject matter experts to develop online learning modules
  • Provide expert guidance in the use of online learning materials development software
  • Develop interactive content to support online learning
  • Make use of the off the shelf leaning content development software (Adobe Captivate, Articulate 360, ThingLink etc. to create simple interactive animations & simulations
  • Update and maintain existing learning content
  • Research emerging technology trends
  • Work in accordance with IT security policies and procedures
  • Participate in the production and maintenance of systems documentation
  • Undertake any other duties, commensurate with the grade, which may be required within the needs of the service and as required by the Head of IT
  • Work with subject matter experts to develop online learning modules

  • Develop interactive content to support online learning

  • Given the dynamic nature of the role, it must be accepted that, as the work develops and changes, there will be a need for adjustments to the role and responsibilities of the post

Media Developer Applicants:

Essential:

  • Real world application of common desktop software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, plan and prioritise tasks
  • Able to work as part of team
  • Desire for continuous improvement
  • Level 2 qualification in IT or a relevant industry qualification
  • Experience of using common desktop software (Microsoft Office, Google Docs etc) to create learning materials
  • Experience of creating online learning content
  • Experience of using learning content development software
  • Flexibility to work evenings / weekends may be required to implement occasional major system changes and cover helpdesk rota
  • Able to travel between sites
  • Strong commitment to Equality and Diversity
  • Awareness of Safeguarding/suitability to work with children

Desirable

  • Learning materials/content development skills
  • Skills in digital photography and filmmaking
  • Artistic / animation skills
  • Level 3 qualification in IT or a relevant industry qualification
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline
  • Experience of working within the education sector
  • Experience in the development of 3D modelling and virtual reality environments.
  • Experience integrating personalization, gamification, and social techniques to eLearning

This is a fixed term contract for 6 months.
