Baltic Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Procurement & Supply Chain Assistant joining a fast-growing and forward-thinking business based in Thornaby-on-Tees.

This is a full-time, on-site role responsible for supporting both procurement and supply chain operations. You’ll help manage supplier relationships, purchase orders, and inventory levels, ensuring the smooth flow of goods from order through to delivery.

Summary of Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Managing purchase orders, supplier communication, and product availability.
• Monitoring stock levels and coordinating replenishment to prevent shortages or overstock.
• Assisting with logistics coordination, including delivery schedules and inbound shipments.
• Analysing purchasing and supply data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements.
• Maintaining accurate records of suppliers, orders, and pricing.
• Working closely with warehouse, sales, and finance teams to align purchasing and stock management with business needs.
• Supporting supplier performance reviews and helping onboard new suppliers where necessary.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Highly organised with keen attention to detail.
• Comfortable working collaboratively across departments.
• Proficient in Excel and basic data analysis.
• Previous experience in the food or FMCG industry is an advantage.
• Qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Business are beneficial.
