Baltic Recruitment are seeking a skilled Press Operator to join our manufacturing client based in Birtley. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of press machinery, ensuring high-quality production standards while adhering to safety protocols. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read blueprints, perform quality inspections, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Operate press machines and other related machinery to produce precision components.
• Set up and adjust press machines according to specifications and production requirements.
• Conduct routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Perform quality inspections using precision measuring instruments.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings for accurate production.
• Collaborate with team members in assembly processes and tooling adjustments.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area while adhering to safety standards.

Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

• Proficiency in operating press brake machines, stamping presses, and other manufacturing equipment.
• Familiarity with CNC programming, electrical discharge machining, plasma cutting, and welding techniques.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in machining and fabrication processes.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to production tasks.
• Experience with quality inspection processes to ensure product integrity.
• Ability to operate hand tools and other equipment safely and effectively.

Shifts

Monday to Thursday 7:30am-4:40pm, Fridays 7am-12pm

Pay rate

£14.64ph
